Needle Punch Flower Pin – Mother’s Day Craft

Never heard of needle punch?  A few years ago it was not a craft I was familiar with either.  Turns out needle punch is a very old craft.  My first introduction to it was at the Clover Booth at CHA.  They called it an Embroidery Stitching tool.  Honestly, I have never really used it for embroidery but what I would call needle punch or punch needle.  Flowers are all the rage in crafts and I wanted to come up with something that would use up a lot of my stash.  My ribbon stash has grown over the years and this was a great way to use a lot of colors.

Materials:

Silk Ribbon, Embroidery Floss, gross grain ribbon, beads, felt and wool roving, pin back and glue.

Tools:

Scissors, Embroidery Stitching tool, Felting Needle

  1. So glad to see this coming back. We used to call this Russian embroidery. It was popular for adding texture to needlework designs especially for things like Santa’s beard and Raggedy Ann and Andy’s hair…….

We really love comments, we really, really, really do!
